For this week’s half of the assignment, please complete the following tasks on your WordPress.com site by 11:59 p.m. next Sunday:
- ENHANCE:
Choose one aspect of your organization’s site, either a message you’re trying to get across, or a function you’re trying to improve and describe both an image and a video that you might use to augment the content effectively. Provide alternate text to describe the image, and a transcript to represent the video. In a substantial paragraph following, describe the placement within the text, and the benefits to getting your message across to your audience of each option (image or video), and then choose which you think would work more effectively in this instance.
Ed Quest Results:

Have the virtual class you desire this fall!
Video: person speaking about effective online teaching and learning
Transcript: Many of us are now tasked with online learning. Do you need assistance ensuring your classes provide effective teaching and learning? It’s important to know that the transition to online learning is not the same as simply doing everything you’ve done face to face online. It’s different. Learn tips, tools and strategies for effective classroom organization, teaching and learning.
2. In a substantial paragraph following, describe the placement within the text, and the benefits to getting your message across to your audience of each option (image or video), and then choose which you think would work more effectively in this instance.
The benefits to getting my message across with the image would showcase a friendly, engaged quick personalized options for online learning. It would show teachers a way that they can provide a quick personalized virtual classroom. The video gives more details on why the training offered through our program is effective. I’ve observed so many K-12 and higher education faculty simply try to move the course learning activities from face to face to online. For example, one elementary school I’ve observed has a full day schedule for with hourly live lessons for each subject. They are replicating the face to face school day online. This is not feasible for students or teachers. The video would show that there are tips and trends that should be used for effective teaching and learning. Depending on the demographics, I think for this instance the image would be an attention grabber and teachers would like to know more.
3. WEIGH THE WORDS:
Develop a list of thirty keywords that you want to ensure are represented on the site. Group them according to your site’s content and categories, and arrange them in order of importance.

Alternative option:
- Image – heart question mark, the breast cancer symbol and the words “What do I do next”? Nominate someone to receive our bounds of love care package for recently diagnosed cancer patients.
video – Testimony of a survivor – For example. My name is ____. I have two daughters age 4 and 6. At the age of 38 I was diagnosed with ___. It was a very scary time in my life. Although I didn’t share with many people those that I did showered me with prayers, support and at times tangible gifts. This foundation/nonprofit was birthed out of that season. There are lots of things we don’t know but having someone who has been through the same things as you, to send you resources that helped them, does lighten the load. If you would like to nominate someone for our bounty of love care package use the form below.
Another video would be of someone who recently received a package. I’ve been sending packages to different people and I would let them speak freely.
I think both are effective but the video would be most effective.
Assignment 2. In a substantial paragraph following, describe the placement within the text, and the benefits to getting your message across to your audience of each option (image or video), and then choose which you think would work more effectively in this instance.
The benefits of getting my message to the audience via image is that all the information can be gathered in a view seconds. The video does provide a personal connection allowing the audience the opportunity to relate or feel compassion for someone they know. They may have known someone with a diagnosis but not really thought about those first moments of diagnosis. The video would be more effective.
